Geno, a life-long musician from Austin, Texas was born in 1974 and grew up in the renowned 78704 zip code surrounded by many Austin music icons like Rocky Erickson, Marcia Ball, and Jimmie & Stevie Ray Vaughn. Geno started playing piano and taking voice lessons at age 7 and later attended Austin High School, playing tuba in band & orchestra. He continued playing tuba in the Longhorn band while earning his Bachelor of Music degree from University of Texas.
Geno is a native Austinite loved by all & known for his variety of music, impactful teaching, and zest for life.
In his many years of music Geno has played in numerous bands, written songs, composed & arranged music, taught private lesson and directed high school bands, orchestras, choirs, mariachi groups, guitar classes, piano classes, and musical theater. He has directed & conducted many events including TubaChristmas Austin, played gospel in church, performed at weddings and private events, owned Gott Music Music Store, gone on tours, and recorded and released albums.
Currently Geno teaches private lessons and directs the Smithville Community Choir at Gottschalls Music Event Center. He also performs old school Rock n Roll with Geno G & His Rockaholics. Geno’s History of Rock n Roll EP was released in May 2018 and is available on all digital platforms.
