David Orr Band

  • The Front Room 116 Main Street Smithville, TX, 78957 United States (map)

Australian Guitarist David Orr is bringing his acoustic show (featuring Kym Warner on mandolin) to The Front Room, with a mix of blues, soul and americana.

As a performer and songwriter, David’s breakthrough came with rock trio Numbers Radio. The band’s ability to pen whip-smart pop rock tunes saw their track “Boring” used on the American hit TV show “Shameless”.

David also loves studio production, recently recording guitar for the music of Australian television production Bluey which won “Best Children’s Album” in the 2021 ARIAs (Australian Recording Industry Awards).

As a session guitar player, David has toured Europe and North America with theatre productions such as “The Ten Tenors” and his own group “Dave Orr Band”. The demanding role of a theatre show musician (covering many different styles) helped shape David into an extremely versatile guitar player with a wide palette of inspiration to draw from.

In his heart, David has always had a deep appreciation of the great blues and jazz of the past and present. He has relished years of late nights playing dive bars with his beat up Gibson during his years studying Jazz at Australia’s leading music conservatoriums.

David is now based in Austin, Texas “Live music capital of the world” a city thriving with artists and world class musicians to collaborate with.
